About Kathleen O’Brien
Kathleen was born in Billings, Montana, and has lived in Oregon since 1973. She began her law practice in Portland in 1983,
and moved to her present SE location in 2007.
Kathleen graduated from Oregon State University with high honors in 1977, and the University of Oregon School of Law in 1980. While at law school she served on the Oregon Law Review and the Dean Search Committee.
Kathleen has served in the Oregon State Bar House of Delegates; on the Board of Directors of Oregon Women Lawyers; and on the
Executive Board of the Bar’s Section on Disability Law. She is a co-author of Oregon Women and the Law, published in 1997.
She speaks Spanish and has studied Mandarin Chinese and other languages. She has two children, who are now adults.
